The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) Approves the Appointment of Aklilu Wubet as CEO of Wegagen Bank
Acting CEO of Wegagen Bank Aklilu Wubet has officially become the seventh CEO of Wegagen Bank following NBE’s approval of his appointment as of January 28, 2022.
In a letter signed on January 28, 2022 and sent to Wegagen Bank, the NBE stated that after evaluating his credentials and other relevant documents presented by Wegagn Bank, it has approved the appointment of Aklilu Wubet as CEO of the Bank.
Aklilu is a prominent figure in the Ethiopian banking industry serving in different capacities for about a quarter of a century at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Lion International Bank, Bank of Abyssinia and Nile Insurance.
Wegagen Bank’s CEO Aklilu Wubet is a PhD candidate in the discipline of Banking System at Addis Ababa University.
